Power Rangers Party Food

power rangers napkinsAfter an afternoon of action-packed adventure, your Power Rangers will be hungry! Here are some themed ideas on what to feed them:

Morphin’ muffins: Bake cornmeal-cheddar cheese muffins and cut a lightning stencil out of cardboard. Lay the stencil on each muffin and sift paprika over it to create a red lightning bolt.

Power pizzas: Make an assortment of mini-pizzas in popular flavors—pepperoni, plain cheese, ham and pineapple, veggie. If you want to get fancy, you can cut lightning bolts out of red and yellow peppers and lay one on top of each mini-pizza.

Power Ranger veggie platter: Create a veggie platter based on the Power Ranger colors—blue, red, yellow and black. Make a simple veggie dip (half-cup mayonnaise, half-cup sour cream, two teaspoons of mustard, dried dill) and add a few drops of blue food coloring in it. This will look very weird to a grown-up, but it has gross-out appeal to kids! Surround the dip bowl with sections of cherry tomatoes, black olives and yellow bell pepper strips. (Note: This arrangement will look great, but lots of kids don’t like olives, so those might not get eaten.). Put a mug full of carrot sticks near the platter as well.

Power Ranger Jello cups: Make individual Jello cups in clear plastic cups (plastic disposable champagne cups are great for this) in Power Ranger colours: blue (blueberry), red (cherry) and yellow (pineapple). For the black accent, wait until the Jello cups are half-set, then dunk an oreo halfway into the mixture.

Power Ranger fruit platter: Arrange blueberries, pineapple slices and strawberries or raspberries in sections on a platter.
